WRIT's Bennett Park project consolidates four parcels that retain two existing office buildings at 1600 Wilson Blvd. and 1611 Clarendon Blvd. Two smaller buildings on Wilson Blvd. were demolished to make way for two new residential buildings, a nine story building on Wilson Blvd. and a 15-story building on Clarendon Blvd. The project includes an additional 25% density for residential units, totaling 178 apartments, which includes 14 affordable units. An additional 700 sq. ft. of retail space is provided at the ground level on Wilson Blvd.
A public art gallery is included as a community benefit in the Clarendon Blvd. Tower. The space is accessible from Pierce Street and connects to a public courtyard between the buildings. The Gallery and the courtyard house three pieces of public art which were provided by the developer in coordination with the Arlington Public Art Committee.
The project also includes a public "pocket" plaza on Wilson Boulevard between the new and existing buildings.
