Grant Thornton comes to Rosslyn

International consulting firm will bring 1,000 workers + more jobs to 1000 Wilson Blvd.

Last week, real estate investment firm Monday Properties announced that Grant Thornton LLP, one of the world's leading global audit, tax and advisory firms, would consolidate their McLean and Alexandria offices in one location: 1000 Wilson Blvd. in Rosslyn.

The move, which is slated to take place in November, will bring nearly 1,000 workers to Rosslyn. Additionally, Grant Thornton said they would create another 348 jobs as part of the move. These employees, who will join Rosslyn's worker population of more than 20,000, will enjoy the neighborhood's easy access to public transportation; more than 100 restaurants and retailers; and nearly 100 annual community events, many of them free.

In a press release, Governor Terry McAuliffe's office said that Virginia successfully competed against Washington, D.C., for the project. McAuliffe said retaining Grant Thornton is "a big win for the Commonwealth," and added that "the firm's consolidation is a great testament to the business advantages of Arlington County."

1000 Wilson Boulevard, along with the adjacent 1100 Wilson Boulevard, comprise The Towers complex, a one million square foot Monday Properties development with an iconic presence on the Potomac River that offers unobstructed views of Washington, D.C. Monday Properties has invested heavily in elevating the overall work environment experience at The Towers to meet the growing demand for amenities and to foster tenant collaboration. Grant Thornton will occupy four floors totaling about 76,000 square feet of office space.

“As one of the world’s leading independent audit, tax and advisory firms Grant Thornton is a terrific addition to Rosslyn and a great fit for our building at 1000 Wilson Boulevard,” said Tim Helmig, president and chief operating officer of Monday Properties. “In addition to Virginia’s business friendly environment, Grant Thornton’s clients and employees will enjoy Rosslyn’s bustling social scene, lush trails and close proximity to D.C. The move is emblematic of how today’s Rosslyn is attracting businesses and corporations of all sizes.”
