Arlington House is inextricably linked to one of the most famous Confederate Civil War Generals, Robert E. Lee, but it is also the home of a family whose roots lie with the father of our country, George Washington. Arlington House is where this family lived and lost. It was also home to a large enslaved population that came from Mount Vernon to provide the existence that the family knew.
