Synetic Theater fuses the classical elements of drama, movement, dance, mime, and music into a distinct form of non-realistic theater. Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili, artistic director and resident choreographer, respectively, have garnered international, critical, and audience acclaim for their award-winning productions. Mr. Tsikurishvili has received eight Helen-Hayes-Award nominations and four awards (Best Director and Best Resident Play for Hamlet…the Rest is Silence, as well as for Macbeth). Mrs. Tsikurishvili has received ten nominations for Best Choreography and won the award four times (The Idiot, Faust, Macbeth, and Hamlet…the rest is silence). In 2007 alone, Synetic Theater has received 16 Helen Hayes Award nominations and 6 Helen Hayes Awards.
