
ROSSLYN, VA – When Arlington opens its Cultural Center in Rosslyn on 10.10.10, two of the Washington area’s most accomplished theater companies will shake up the venue with cutting-edge performances. Synetic Theater and Washington Shakespeare Company will preview upcoming productions at the first of Rosslyn Renaissance’s 2010 “Rooms With A View” Lecture Series. This popular networking event, now in its 19th year, focuses on the most interesting aspects of living and working in Rosslyn.
Synetic will offer sultry scenes from Antony and Cleopatra and WSC will give a sneak peak at its version of Moliere’s The Miser, followed by a lively conversation on leadership in the arts with the two artistic directors. The event will be held Tuesday, February 9 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Rosslyn Spectrum Theatre at 1611 N. Kent Street in Rosslyn.
The 2010 lecture series continues on Tuesday, February 23 at 6:00 p.m. when two of Washington’s top politica
l journalists, ABC 7/WJLA-TV’s Gordon Peterson and POLITICO’s Assistant Editor Jeanne Cummings, discuss the challenges facing President Obama as he enters the second year of his presidency. Leadership in political journalism will be part of their talk at the Boeing Conference Center at 1200
Wilson Blvd.
Rounding out the lecture series on Thursday, March 18 at 6:00 p.m., two well-known officials discuss the leadership challenges faced by local, state and federal governments during tight fiscal times, and how their actions impact everyday Americans. Former Arlington County Manager-turned International City Managers Association Executive Ron Carlee and DNC Senior Advisor Larry Roberts team up on the topic at the CEB’s Waterview Conference Center at 1919 N. Lynn Street.
