Rosslyn, VA - Peter N. Greenwald, senior advisor at Penzance Companies, was named by the Rosslyn Business Improvement District (BID) board of directors as its new president in October. Greenwald succeeds Stuart H. Miller, a founder of the Rosslyn BID who has served as the board president since 2005. Greenwald serves on the advisory board of Artisphere, Rosslyn’s cultural center, and has represented Penzance on the BID board since 2006. Penzance has owned 1500 Wilson Boulevard since 2006 and acquired 1555 Wilson Boulevard in 2011.
In speaking of his new role, Mr. Greenwald commented, “The transactional activity and the confidence of the investment community in Rosslyn signals its continuing and expanding preeminence in the metropolitan Washington region. This means that the revisions to the Rosslyn Sector Plan and the acclaim lauded on Artisphere, Arlington’s new arts and cultural center located in Rosslyn, are all themore exciting, and makes my role rich with opportunity, challenge and potential.

Greenwald has 30 years of management, operational and legal experience in a range of industries. He founded the New York law firm of Greenwald and Strongin, and is a former partner at Rosenman & Colin, now KMZ Rosenman. Greenwald was also executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Virginia-basedRetired Persons Services, Inc.
New York Mayor Giuliani named Greenwald to the board of The Aging in the New York Fund, and he served as a member of the Board and Executive Committee through the Bloomberg administration until the conclusion of his term. He was designated by two successive UN Secretaries-General to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the United Nations International School in New York.
Greenwald received his AB and MA degrees from Harvard University and his JD degree from the New York University School of Law.
