Rosslyn, VA - The Rosslyn Business Improvement District (BID) is offering a series of free movies in the Dome Theatre in March and April. “Monday at the Movies” is made possible by the generous donation of Monday Properties.
Residents, workers and visitors are encouraged to enjoy popular 80s hit movies in the comfort of the 220-seat Dome Theatre at 1101 Wilson Boulevard. Movies will be shown at 6 p.m. on March 23 and 30, and April 13, 20 and 27. Light refreshments will be available courtesy of Monday Properties.
The series will be a preview of this summer’s 3rd annual Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival. The “I
the 80s” Film Festival will run Fridays at Gateway Park from May 1 – September 4.
“This is affordable entertainment that will help bring together Rosslyn and the greater Arlington community in the former home of the Newseum, which we hope will be the new Arlington Cultural Center. The event also responds to our recent customer satisfaction survey where residents and workers asked for more after-work activities,” says Rosslyn BID Executive Director Cecilia Cassidy.
The schedule for “Monday at the Movies” is:
| March 23 | Radiers of the Lost Ark | 1981 |
| March 30 | Splash | 1984 |
| April 13 | Stand By Me | 1987 |
| April 20 | Who Framed Roger Rabbit | 1988 |
| April 27 | Uncle Buck | 1989 |
“We are proud to be an integral part of the greater community and are pleased to sponsor Monday at the Movies,” said Linda Cogburn, VP of Property Management and Operations at Monday Properties. “In conjunction with the Rosslyn BID, we are excited to give both workers and residents the opportunity to unwind and enjoy an 80’s classic at The Dome.”
Moviegoers are encouraged to catch the metro and to take either the Rosslyn Blue or Orange line stop, which is just two blocks from the Dome Theatre.
