Rosslyn BID Unveils New Interactive Website at www.RosslynVA.org

Release Date: Friday, August 29th 2008

ROSSLYN, VA – The Rosslyn Business Improvement District and its sister organization Rosslyn Renaissance are pleased to launch a totally redesigned website. RosslynVA.org boasts some of the latest technology and captures all the reasons to be excited about the changing urban community.

The website offers visitors an engaging experience. Some of the most innovative features include interactive maps, photo galleries of building projects, video links, a 360-degree view of Rosslyn, a blog, and a chance to submit pictures to a photo gallery called My Rosslyn. Each page is anchored by captivating images offering a virtual picture of Rosslyn, encouraging users to visit Rosslyn in person.

Rosslyn BID and Rosslyn Renaissance Executive Director Cecilia Cassidy says the site will have something for everyone. “With five distinct areas – Live, Work, Play, Visit and Build – there is a wealth of information for residents, workers, visitors, businesses, developers and others hoping to be a part of Rosslyn’s promising future.”

The website is being unveiled after eight months of work with two cutting-edge website developers – Qorvis Communications and Geocentric.

Qorvis Communications, one of the nation’s largest independent communications firms, helped design the new look.  "For Rosslyn, we wanted to ensure all user goals were met head on--from business to residential to tourism--and our partnership with the organization guaranteed this was possible," said Jason Siegel, Qorvis Managing Director and the head of Qorvis Interactive Services.

Geocentric's Citylight Software is powering the new RosslynVA.org website, allowing users to map businesses, buildings, and events in Rosslyn. “It is a true challenge to deliver an interactive experience that can communicate Rosslyn's exciting, ever-changing landscape of activities, attractions, and development," says Jim Blakeslee, President of Geocentric. "We are very proud of the work we did to celebrate and promote Rosslyn as a first class destination district."

Citylight Software is also used by other nationally recognized destination districts including Center City Philadelphia; Downtown Raleigh, NC; Downtown Boulder, CO; and the Downtown DC BID.
