Rosslyn BID's Free Fitness Program Joins Popular Music and Dance Events

                Rosslyn, VA - The Rosslyn Business Improvement District continues its season of more than 100 free events with three programs – Gateway to Fitness, Party at the Plaza, and Restaurants & Rhythms.

             Gateway to Fitness is a free workout program held Saturdays, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., May 30 – September 5 at Gateway Park. Gateway Park is on Lee Highway at the foot of Key Bridge, only two blocks from the Rosslyn Metro station. Olympic Gymnastics Team stretch coach and noted modern dance choreographer Lucy Bowen McCauley will lead Saturday stretch classes May 30 – July 18. Hula-hoop guru Jocelyn Gordon offers Hoopnotica classes Saturdays from July 25 through September 5.  The event will be canceled if it rains.   
                                                                                                                              
            Party at the Plaza features live music and dancing on Wednesdays from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m., June 3 – July 29 on the outdoor plaza at Rosslyn Plaza, 1611 North Kent Street. The covered plaza is located at the corner of Wilson Blvd. and N. Kent Street, just two blocks from Rosslyn Metro. It is accessible by taking the stairs at Wilson Blvd. or by taking the building elevator to the lobby level. Australian dance champion Michael Rye will teach the latest moves between sets. The Latin music nights will feature the region’s leading Salseras. Vornado/Charles E. Smith is an event sponsor. This event will be canceled in extreme weather.

            Restaurants and Rhythms returns to three Rosslyn restaurants in June and July, adding live music every week. Piola has jazz on the menu on Sundays with the band Origem; Café Asia serves up the Blues on Mondays with the Mary Ann Redmond Duo; and theKey Bridge Marriott’s Connexion Lounge offers Brazilian Jazz on Fridays with Project Natale
