Monster is based on the life of Aileen Wuornos, a Daytona Beach prostitute who was executed in 2002 for the murder of six men. The film follows the life of Aileen as she turns from prostitute to cold blooded killer. Charlize Theron, who portrays Aileen, won seventeen awards for her role in the film. Written and directed by Patty Jenkins. Artisphere celebrates women filmmakers on Fridays throughout February to coincide with Frida Kahlo: Her Photos. This is one of a number of complementary programs celebrating the exhibit. $6/Dome Theatre
