A mute woman along with her young daughter, and her prized piano, are sent to 1850's New Zealand for an arranged marriage to a wealthy landowner. She's soon lusted after by a local worker on the plantation. Written and directed by Jane Campion. Artisphere celebrates women filmmakers on Fridays throughout February to coincide with Frida Kahlo: Her Photos. This is one of a number of complementary programs celebrating the exhibit.
