ADVERTISEMENT SIZES

PRODUCTION & GRAPHICS

ROSSLYN is produced on a Macintosh system. All digital files must be submitted in a file created in a professional layout application such as InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop or Quark Xpress. This enables our designers to edit the file if necessary. Please do NOT use Microsoft Publisher. Include both a “native” application file and a PDF. If a native file is not supplied, the advertiser is held responsible to make certain that all color space and fonts are correct.

Line art should be provided at 600-1200 dpi. Images or photos should be set at 300 dpi. Any ad supplied as an EPS should have all type converted to outlines, which turns each letter into a graphic, ensuring that the type prints as the advertiser intended.

COLOR

All images should be converted to CMYK. Do not use RGB or Pantone (PMS) colors. Images taken directly from the Web and photos from a digital camera are in RGB and MUST be converted to CMYK to be printed on a press. Note: this conversion may cause a noticeable color shift.

PROOFS

A copy of the ad must also be transmitted by fax or mail whenever the artwork is submitted by e-mail or FTP. A paper proof of the ad is required so the designer and printer know what to expect.

If color is critical, a color copy print must be mailed to the Rosslyn BID/Rosslyn Renaissance office. Advertisers who do not provide a color proof assume full liability for the quality of the final reproduction and ROSSLYN will not be responsible for any color shifting that may occur.

No pre-press proofs are provided from the magazine to its advertisers.

SUBMITTING ARTWORK

Artwork files on a CD can be submitted by mail, along with the insertion order form, or the files can be shipped electronically via e-mail or FTP.
