Important resources for the Rosslyn community during COVID-19

First and foremost, the Rosslyn BID would like to send a heartfelt message of support to our community. While we are limiting our external and face-to-face meetings, we are still hard at work for you, and are dedicated to making sure you have the resources you need during these uncertain times. We are maintaining close contact with Arlington County officials, businesses and residents, and wanted to share some important resources.

FIRST, A FEW UPDATES:

  • On April 27, the Rosslyn BID announced that it will provide $100,000 in critical relief to Rosslyn small businesses as part of the Arlington County Small Business Emergency GRANT Program (Giving Resiliency Assets Near Term). The GRANT Program is designed to help small businesses – many of whom have been left behind in federal relief efforts – with grants of up to $10,000 for businesses with fewer than 50 employees. See our press release here and sign up to get important updates about the GRANT Program here
  • On March 23, we launched our #RosslynRewards program. When you order takeout or delivery from a Rosslyn restaurant and share on social media, we will give you a $10 reward for every $20 you spend on each order (max $50 reward). For more details please click here
  • For our directory of which restaurants are still open and offering take-out or curbside pickup, please click here
  • The Rosslyn BID Ambassadors have increased cleaning in public spaces, and are observing strict sanitary protocols such as frequent hand washing and social distancing. If you need assistance, please reach out to our Operations Manager, Victor Carcamo, who is readily available onsite and in the neighborhood.
  • The Rosslyn BID’s physical events have been canceled through June 10. However, we’ll continue posting virtual events, such as our Virtual Triva, on our events calendar. Please follow our social media (InstagramFacebook and Twitter) for virtual contests and more!
  • As a convener and connector for the neighborhood, the BID is here to help – so if you have a need, an idea or something to share with the community, please reach out to us here. And for our businesses, we have an ongoing survey to gauge how to best support you during this period.

NOW, A FEW USEFUL RESOURCES:

  • Check out our new virtual wellness resources to keep you active and healthy during this difficult time.
  • A note for our Rosslyn restaurants: we're tracking helpful resources for you here
  • Other Rosslyn businesses, please see our page dedicated to reesources that will help you maintain your operations, access expert advice and plan for the future.
  • Arlington County Police Department has continued normal operations and they are asking the public to call the non-emergency number (703) 558-2222 for any issues that are not life threatening, which will help keep the 911 line and staff available for emergencies.
  • Need to get out for some exercise? There are 53 approximate acres of open, park spaces in Rosslyn just waiting for you to explore. Rosslyn abounds with biking and running trails, such as the Theodore Roosevelt IslandMount Vernon Trail and Martha Custis Trail.  Fun fact: Rosslyn has a ton of outdoor public art on display year round. Check out Arlington Arts’ self-guided walking tour via the Sidewalk app, and visit nine of the permanent installations right here in Rosslyn! Just make sure to avoid crowded places and practice social distancing.
  • Stay safe and up-to-date. Follow the CDC webpage and WHO webpage and Arlington County’s webpage for the most up-to-date information.
