Ft. Worth, TX – During its most recent annual conference the International Downtown Association recognized the Rosslyn BID with a Downtown Pinnacle Award for its work and initiatives related to Public Space.
Specifically, the Rosslyn BID’s “CentralSpace to CentralPlace,” a construction site-turned-temporary public plaza and rain garden, was selected from 10 qualified entries in the category of Public Space. Submitted projects and initiatives in this category come from those organizations working to further their city centers by one or more of the following:
• Creating successful programs and strategies to recruit new businesses or to improve retention efforts in downtown
• Recruiting new sectors to the downtown economy
• Creating successful brick and mortar projects that have created or enhanced economic development efforts through creative financing, unique operating strategies, or public-private partnerships
“This project, jointly developed by Rosslyn BID and our sister organization Rosslyn Renaissance, brought together developer The JBG Companies, Rosslyn’s Cannon Design and community volunteers to create a construction beautification project that is helping to bring the community together before, during and after work,” says Cecilia Cassidy, Executive Director of Rosslyn BID and Rosslyn Renaissance.
