James Bond has stood the test of time. Now you can get your fill of the suave spy in the Rosslyn BID’s second annual outdoor movie festival at Gateway Park. Because “Once is Never Enough”, the BID has once again teamed up with the Georgetown Film Festival to present a 16-week series that will run Friday nights from May 2 through August 22 (except for July 4).
The 007 line up includes classics such as Dr. No, starring Sean Connery (1962), and more recent titles like Pierce Bronson’s Die Another Day (2002).
The free events will start at dusk — rain or shine! Special Awards will be given to people who come dressed as their favorite villain (such as Chang, Nick Nack, or Oddjob).

The Rosebud competition and festival was founded in 1990 to promote the rich and diverse independent film and video community in Washington, Maryland and Virginia. Named in honor of Citizen Kane, the festival celebrates the innovative, experimental, unusual or deeply personal in creative film and making. Each year the annual competition awards large cash prizes, valuable products and services as well as theatrical and cable television showcases to deserving film and video artists, providing many opportunities for artistic growth and professional exposure.
This annual, four-day film festival — scheduled in July of every year — features screenings of rarely seen comedies from the silent and early sound eras. It is an opportunity to view films that are some of the earliest creative efforts in the development of motion picture comedy.
