UPDATE: Due to inclement weather conditions, Rosslyn Cider Fest has been rescheduled from October 11 to October 18.
We're sure you've done your share of wine and beer tastings, but do you know how to taste cider and distinguish between varieties? Well, now's your chance to learn more about this delicious alcoholic beverage that's favored by many who don't like beer.
TICKETS: Our online tickets have SOLD OUT. We will sell some tickets on-site as well tomorrow while supplies last. We have invited several cideries to set up shop in Central Place Plaza so you can sample their products for $10 (8 samples). You can also visit the outdoor bar to purchase beer, wine and full-sized cider bottles.
PIE EATING CONTEST: At 6 p.m., we will host a pie eating contest! Online registration is now closed. All contestants need to check-in at the ticket table by 5:45 pm. You'll have one minute to eat an entire pie. The winner receives a basket of Rosslyn goodies!
Food trucks onsite will include Mama's Donut Bites, Bonn Boni, and Urban Bumpkin.
Live entertainment will be provided by Two Ton Twig, an Alexandria-based band that incorporates traditional influences from Appalachia, Red Dirt, Eastern European folk, bluegrass and other forms of American Roots music to create their own sound.
Participating cideries include*:
- Bold Rock
- Winchester Ciderworks
- Cobbler Mountain Cellars
- Bryant's Cider
- Original Sin
- Woodchuck Cider
