The 2018 annual holiday clothing drive supporting Arlington Street People's Assistance Network (A-SPAN) brought in a record number of 265 bags of warm winter clothing that will be shared with our neighbors in need. A-SPAN's Leonard Chari says staff pass out the clothing to people on the street, or when they are visiting A-SPAN's day program and shelter.
From October 24 through November 28, 2018, collection boxes were set out in 30 locations throughout Rosslyn. The Rosslyn BID sought donations for both men and women that included coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, hats, gloves and jeans. Both office towers and residential buildings participated. As has been the case in previous years, the River Place Condominium complex proved to be the most generous.
River Place East was the top collector with 38 bags, followed by Turnberry Tower with 35 bags and River Place North with 24 bags. Other generous donors were River Place South (21) Sedona | Slate (14) and Bennett Park Apartments (13). Thanks to all who contributed!
