Netherlands Carillon
1400 N Meade St
Arlington, VA 22209
To show their gratitude for American aid during and after World War II, the people of the Netherlands presented the United States with a carillon of bells in an open steel tower overlooking the Potomac River. The unique structure designed by Joost W.C. Boks in 1960 chimes on the hour, and plays patriotic music twice daily. Free concerts are offered on Saturdays and national holidays from May through September.
