Rosslyn BID Unveils the NOW: A Pop-Up Park Bringing New Energy to Nash, Oak, and Wilson
A one-of-a-kind outdoor destination to Gather, Grow, and bring your Paws—debuting just in time for Fall Fest

ROSSLYN, Va., Sept. 22, 2025 — The Rosslyn Business Improvement District (BID) unveiled the NOW, a first-of-its-kind pop-up park at the corner of Nash Street, Oak Street, and Wilson Boulevard. In partnership with Yellowstone Landscape and Monday Properties, the BID transformed an underutilized terrace at 1401 Wilson Blvd. into a dynamic public space with community feedback in mind, offering a versatile destination to connect, learn, and play.
“Rosslyn is about innovation, connection, and possibility—and that’s exactly what the NOW delivers,” said Mary-Claire Burick, president of the Rosslyn BID. “We’re thrilled to create a vibrant and unique place that not only fills a gap as redevelopment plans are underway but also reflects the community’s voice. With gathering areas, urban gardens, and a pet zone, it invites everyone to experience Rosslyn in new ways right NOW.”
More Than a Park: Three Zones, Endless Possibilities
- Gather – Scenic terrace with comfortable seating for mindful moments, lunch breaks, and BID-hosted community events.
- Grow – An interactive urban garden, sponsored by Nestlé, that features native plants, pollinator-friendly beds, rain barrels hand-painted by students from H-B Woodlawn, organic soil provided by Area 2 Farms, and small gardens and produce donations maintained by local nonprofit partner Friends of Urban Agriculture.
- Paws – A dog-friendly zone with turf where leashed pets can stretch, sniff, and socialize.
The first major community event the Rosslyn BID will host at the NOW is Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 4. This free event, which features seasonal food and drinks, music, and fun for all ages, invites the public to experience Rosslyn’s newest outdoor gathering spot.
“Monday Properties is proud to partner with the Rosslyn BID on this creative activation, one that benefits residents and visitors while we finalize plans for a transformative new development in this important corner of Rosslyn,” said Jennifer Burns, Chief Operating Officer, Monday Properties.
Beyond its signature zones, NOW features creative lighting, flexible seating, and festival street concepts. It serves as a living example of how public-private partnerships can bring fresh energy to Arlington’s urban environment.
“The unveiling of NOW shows how county partners like the Rosslyn BID can deliver spaces that bring new energy to our community,” said Ryan Touhill, director of Arlington Economic Development (AED). “Projects like this reflect our joint commitment to finding better solutions and processes that strengthen placemaking across the County.”
Built for Rosslyn, by Rosslyn
NOW is more than a pop-up park—it was inspired by the community itself. In the 2025 Rosslyn Perception Survey, 60% of respondents called for more parks, gathering areas, and public spaces. By reimagining the outdoor space at 1401 Wilson Blvd., the Rosslyn BID demonstrates its forward-thinking approach to placemaking, activating a dormant space while directly responding to community feedback.
