Wondering where to catch Independence Day fireworks from a great spot in Rosslyn? The National Mall firework display will start at 9:09 p.m., and there are several spots in the neighborhood where you can watch the festivities! Plus, Rosslyn will be decked out with American flags to be in the festive mood, thanks to our team of ambassadors.
If you’re taking public transport, the blue, orange, and silver metro line trains run through Rosslyn, and fares are free after 5 p.m. on July 4! You can find out more information about WMATA holiday hours here. For planned road closures, check out Arlington County’s traffic alerts before heading out in the neighborhood.
1 Picnic on the lawn of the Marine Corps Memorial or Netherlands Carillon 1400 N Meade St Arlington, VA Bring a blanket and grab a spot on the sprawling lawns for direct views of the Washington Monument and National Mall. With the locations being just a few minutes from each other, you can find a spot that gives you the best view — plus pick up food from a nearby Rosslyn restaurant to snack on while you wait for the show! Make sure to plan your route ahead, as some roads surrounding the Memorial will be closed (see Arlington County’s traffic alerts above). |
2 Walk along the Key Bridge Arlington, VA 22209 Catch the show over the Potomac River between Rosslyn and Georgetown! While this location is standing room only, it’s a great place to watch the fireworks on your way to Rosslyn or into DC. |
3 Bike or walk on the Mount Vernon Trail Langston Blvd. & Lynn St. Arlington, VA 22209 The Mount Vernon trail begins in Rosslyn, and is a great way to catch some of the firework views on your way to or from the neighborhood. If you want to bike through the trails, there are several Capital Bikeshare locations nearby where you can pick up or dock a bike. |
4 Get dinner and a show at Amuse 1121 19th St N Arlington, VA 22209 Want a show with dinner? Check out Amuse at the Le Meridien Arlington! They offer a simple yet elegant menu, plus a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the Potomac River. Dinner hours are 4-10 p.m. for the bar and dining room. |
5 Walk around the neighborhood to spot American flags Wilson Blvd/Nash St/Oak St Arlington, VA Our ambassadors are bringing the patriotic spirit to the neighborhood this week! Wednesday and Thursday (July 2 and 3), our ambassadors are setting up American flags around Rosslyn, so make sure to check them out as you head to watch the fireworks or celebrate with friends and family! |
6 Relax in the oasis of Gateway Park 1300 Langston Blvd, Base of Key Bridge Arlington, VA Gateway Park is the perfect secluded spot in Rosslyn for you to relax before heading to spot the fireworks in the neighborhood nearby! Grab your friends, a blanket, and some food to kick back and hang out in the warm weather while surrounded by nature. |
