A message from The Rosslyn BID

Rosslyn, VA – June 5, 2020 – Rosslyn is a diverse neighborhood and we are better for that diversity. As an organization dedicated to our community, The Rosslyn BID has zero tolerance for discrimination in any form. Our mission is to keep our neighborhood safe, clean and enjoyable for all, and we recognize that we can’t fully achieve that mission if some members of our community are treated differently – and violently – because of the color of their skin.

The unrest of this past week is a tragic reminder of how far we still have to go to reach a place where black lives matter, and all are treated justly, with dignity, humanity and empathy. The last week has sparked important conversations among our staff and has renewed a desire and commitment to use our role as a community builder for positive change. Our first steps are listening, learning and proactively seeking out community input on how we can make progress together.

We’d like to join in echoing the statements many of our businesses and County government representatives have shared, as we look forward to working together to create a truly safe and inclusive Rosslyn community based on respect and equality.
