What better way to get out for some fresh air than a stroll with your pup? With our Rosslyn Ready program, we’ve been working hard to make sure our neighborhood is safe and clean for whenever you decide you’re ready to return. Check out below for some ideas on where you can take your dog around Rosslyn, just remember to take a mask, maintain physical distancing and abide by Virginia's Phase Three guidelines.
Take a walk in the park or visit a monument
Just a five minute walk from the heart of Rosslyn, the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial is a great spot to take in views of D.C. while you get some exercise with your dog. Pack a picnic and stay for the day, or make your way to other outdoor spaces in Rosslyn, like Gateway Park on Lee Hwy. Even check out the iconic art in Dark Star Park or take WalkArlington's guided tour of Rosslyn’s public art!
Get your steps in on one of Rosslyn’s trails
What better way to motivate for some daily exercise than a walk with your dog! With an entrance just off of N. Lynn st. (before the Key Bridge), the Mt. Vernon & Potomac Heritage Trails are the perfect place to enjoy a scenic walk or run. From there, make your way over to Theodore Roosevelt Island for a quick escape from the urban landscape that both you and Fido will love.
Enjoy a meal with your four-legged best friend
One benefit of all of the new outdoor dining options in Rosslyn is the addition of new patios to bring your pup! Continental Beer garden, Open Road and Nandos are among those with patio seating open to you and your dog, just be sure to wear a mask when required and review these restaurant guidelines laid out by the Virginia Department of Health before you go.
Make a pit stop in one of Rosslyn’s pet gardens
Don’t have time to visit any of the above but still want to treat your pup? Check out one of Rosslyn's pet gardens, with one located on N. Kent St. and 19th St., and the other off of Nash St. and Wilson Blvd. And if you’re someone who’d like to see a dog park right here in Rosslyn, learn more about the Rosslyn Dog Owners Group (R-DOGS) to see how you can help the cause.
