There was no better place to take advantage of the beginning of warmer weather than outdoors in Rosslyn! Through giveaways, flower markets, activities at our public parks and more, Rosslyn had the events you needed to get moving, pick up some fresh finds, and add some color to your days.
FRESHFARM Farmers Market | Wednesdays, May 18-October 26
Shop local and fresh every week from May through October in downtown Rosslyn! The farmers market is open every Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at Central Place Plaza, brought to you in partnership with FRESHFARM, a non-profit that promotes sustainable agriculture and improves food access and equity in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

WalkArlington Presents Walking Palooza | Saturday, April 9
WalkArlington hosted a day of free curated walks to explore Arlington, in recognition of National Walking Day and to help you discover how you can enjoy the thrill of spring walking and commuting in this walk-friendly community!
This event highlighted the walkability, accessibility, and natural beauty of Arlington County through five free community walks that appeal to individuals with broad interests. Rosslyn area walks included Theodore Roosevelt Island and Rosslyn Public Art!
Earth Day Happy Hour | Friday, April 22
We hope you joined us from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Central Place Plaza for a happy hour to kick off our flower market weekends! There was a bar hosted by Open Road, including specialty floral cocktails for purchase to celebrate Earth Day and get you in the spring mood, as well as beer and wine.
During the happy hour, there was also live music, vendor booths from Arlington Friends of Urban Agriculture, Save the B, Arlington Boathouse Foundation, Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, and an opportunity to get your own mini terracotta pot!
Rosslyn Refresh Your Pup! | Thursday, April 28
Calling all Rosslyn dogs and their humans! Pamper your pup with special treats for your furry friend. Come out to the Gateway Park Interim Dog Park for our Rosslyn Refresh pup giveaways at the Rosslyn Trike!
April 15: Doggie Treat Day

The Rosslyn Trike was at the dog park for a doggie treat day! We had packaged dog treats and, of course, puppuccinos!
April 28: Doggie Spa Day (postponed from April 7)
We hope you got your dog looking good and smelling good with some items to freshen up your pup! We gave out individually wrapped paw wipes, perfect to clean up your pup after a fun day at the park. There was also a selection of dog colognes on-site to freshen them up after running around with their other furry friends!
We had other Rosslyn-branded doggie swag available to take home, and our polaroid camera out for a quick photo op to capture a moment with you and your best companion on both dates. Plus, if you came out to the event, you were able to receive a code for a free puppy bowl from South Block Juice!
Flower Market | Saturdays, April 23, 30 & May 7
Due to possible inclement weather, the Flower Market on May 7 was relocated to PNTRY at Assembly, across the street from Central Place Plaza on Moore St.
It’s beginning to feel a lot like spring! We hope you stopped by to check out 12 vendors with a wide selection of goods and services Saturdays, April 23, April 30, and May 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ranging from fresh flower bouquets to natural bath and body products (and even nuts and chocolates!), you had the chance to shop around for all your favorite items to get you ready for the new season!
This was the perfect opportunity to get a unique, locally produced gift for yourself, or for someone special. Visit our vendors page for more information on the selections that were available each date.
Boot Camp with Coach Vic | Mondays & Wednesdays, May 2-25
The Rosslyn BID's very own Coach Vic was back with a series of eight workouts to help you stay healthy and motivated as spring arrived! Beginning on Monday, May 2, Rosslyn’s favorite fitness series returned to Gateway Park for four weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m.
An hour-long full body HIIT workout, Boot Camp with Coach Vic will had us burning calories and getting stronger, with no equipment needed, using only body weight! These workouts were designed with all fitness levels in mind by having easy modifications available for each exercise.
Bike to Work Day | Friday, May 20
Whether you’re working from home or commuting to the office, we hope you hopped on a bike and rode with BikeArlington this Bike to Work Day to get outside for one of our favorite annual events! This event was free and open to all.
We joined people all over the region in celebrating this fun, healthy, and sustainable activity. Arlington had seven pit stops located around the County, including one in Rosslyn's Gateway Park (1300 Lee Hwy).
Big Blooms | Gift Card Giveaway through May 23
You may have seen something big blooming around the neighborhood! We installed larger-than-life flowers across Rosslyn, and we encouraged you to walk around and stop to take in these huge bursts of color around Gateway Park, Central Place Plaza, Freedom Park, and The Heights Building. At each flower installation station listed below, there was a pink circle with a QR code to scan with your phone's camera for an Instagram filter to help you show off!
When you shared your photo with the hashtag #RosslynRefresh, you were also entered for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local restaurant of your choice. We awarded a gift card every week, so we hope you posted often! Winners were notified every Monday through May 23 for pictures posted the week prior.
