Hello, Rosslyn! We are excited to introduce our blog.

We hope it’ll be a way to establish mutual communication with you that’s fun, informal and informative. Twice a month, we’ll share a behind-the-scenes perspective on what’s new, engaging, trendy and impactful in Rosslyn.

We’ll give you inside information about new restaurants. Tips on the hottest cultural events you won’t want to miss. Advance notice about new retailers coming to Rosslyn.

We’ll keep you updated on urban development, including major construction projects that affect you. We’ll give you the inside scoop on plans for urban design and placemaking that will change the way you experience the neighborhood at the street level. Still not quite sure what Realize Rosslyn is and what it means for our community? We’ll keep you up-to-date.

And for history buffs and those of you who are new to Rosslyn and curious about what brought us to the present day, we’ll add in a bit of neighborhood history. As one of the DC area’s red light districts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Rosslyn definitely has some, ahem, lively stories to share, and we’ll relate them to you for your amusement (but don’t worry, this is a G-rated blog).

Then, there are the people. From the small start-ups to the more established corporate brands to the nonprofits tackling the big issues, Rosslyn is teeming with people whose creative energy and willingness to dream are making this urban enclave a hotbed for new ideas and major breakthroughs. Who are the trend-setters and big thinkers who are leaving their mark on Rosslyn? We’ll bring them to you, via interviews or guest blogs.

Last but not least, there’s you. What do you want to learn about your neighborhood? What excites you about Rosslyn’s current direction? Does anything concern you? We want to hear from you. The best blogs are a two-way street, and we encourage and will actively solicit comments from you on what we post. No respectful questions or comments will go unacknowledged. We look forward to a mutually beneficial exchange.

Next up? Watch this space for a blog by digi-culture trend analyst, MSNBC guest commentator and Rosslyn resident Lauren DeLisa Coleman. She’ll be sharing her insights on tech, popular culture and emerging consumer sentiment trends that will affect you and your business.
