Rosslyn Reads Pop-Up Used Book Sale
Grab a book, shop from vendors, get a sweat sesh in and more!
Calling all bookworms! We hope you came out to the Bennett Park Art Atrium for the Rosslyn Reads pop-up used book sale! Thursday, March 24, through Friday, April 1, Turning the Page, a local nonprofit organization, provided a variety of low-cost books for purchase. All proceeds went to benefiting the mission of Turning the Page, which is to link public schools, families and the community so that together they can ensure students receive valuable educational resources and a high-quality public education.
The book sale pop-up hours were as follows:
- Thursday, March 24 | 12-8 p.m.
- Friday, March 25 |
- Saturday, March 26 | 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Thursday, March 31 |
- Friday, April 1 | 12-5 p.m.
Each day of the pop-up, there was different programming during the hours of the sale (see below for details!).
SCHEDULE OF SPECIAL EVENTS
Happy Hour Thursdays | March 24 and 31 | 5:30 p.m.
To kick off the weekend from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on both Thursdays, of the pop-up book sale, we hosted a Happy Hour! There was beer and wine for purchase, as well as a live acoustic performer to close out the nights. A small selection of local vendors, provided through Made in Arlington, were also on-site selling their handmade goods!
Plus as an added bonus, Arlington Arts Center brought their pop-up museum store to the event!
Fitness Fridays | March 25 and April 1 | 4 p.m.
March 25: Local yoga instructor Kara Simon, owner of Loving Heart Holistic Wellness, hosted a small, accessible-to-all yoga class to go into the weekend with a clear mind!
April 1: Bash Boxing came out for a zero-equipment boxing class welcome to all fitness levels!
Bonus! If you attended either of these classes, you received a discount to South Block Juice through their app!
To round out our first weekend of special programming, we had activities for the whole family to enjoy! A variety of children’s books were available for purchase, and balloon twisters and face painters were on-site from 1-3 p.m.
