Rosslyn Delivers 6,000 lbs. of Clothing to A-SPAN
Clothing will help those in need stay warm this winter
The 2015 Rosslyn Holiday Clothing Drive ended Friday night, December 11, in conjunction with the Rosslyn Holiday Market. That night, Rosslyn BID President Mary-Claire Burick presented A-SPAN President and CEO Kathy Sibert with a bag of clothing symbolizing the 150 bags, or nearly 6,000 pounds, of warm clothing collected as part of the drive.
The clothes will be distributed to clients of A-SPAN (Arlington Street People's Assistance Network) during the upcoming cold winter months.
In mid-November, Rosslyn BID ambassadors placed collection boxes in the lobbies of around 17 residential and commercial buildings throughout the neighborhood. Workers and residents donated generously, especially those in the River Place cooperative, who contributed a significant portion of this year's collection.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's clothing drive successful!
